My song ‘Fading Forgotten Town’ will be released very soon… On Thursday
I’m so excited to share this one with you guys! I started writing this song around the same time as the previous 'lasagna meal’ track. Even though they were written in the same period, they have completely different vibes. The music video drops this Thursday as well! Be sure to check it out on my channels, Bandcamp, and official website (mayaclars.com) when it’s time. See you soon!

I thought that homemade ice cream would be more profitable to make, but buying it is REALLY more profitable than making it from all these ingredients. This is exactly that rare case. Okay, I’ll go write music bai
City life or small-town life?
Honestly, I still hesitate when answering this question. I used to think small-town life could boost creativity, that it’d help compose more songs. But I haven’t noticed a difference. It’s all about the limits you set for yourself.
Sometimes it’s like: “I need to write a positive song, with an electric guitar, 3:50 length, it should sound as good as my X song, etc. etc.”, but that doesn’t make sense to me. Your project should capture the moment of your being, so why change that being just to write a ‘good’ song?
The fewer rules you set for your creativity, and the less you expect from your art, the more creativity you’ll find. When you make music for fun, when you’re not trying so hard, when it just flows and you don’t push it, it is so effective. It’s THAT simple, and it’s crazy. 😭

I always try to incorporate less common words into my lyrics as a personal challenge. It’s also fun to write about unusual topics, weaving in metaphors and unconventional phrasing.
Lyrics session ✍🏻
I write lyrics for my songs in different ways. Sometimes, I work at my desk with a pen and notebook, or I use a tablet to write words digitally. Most often, though, I just use my phone and a note app. Experimenting is always great in any aspect of art, it helps spark new ideas.
Lyrics might flow randomly, but sometimes they follow a written melody. Sometimes you write the whole thing in an hour or two. Other times, you spend hours thinking about the bridge, crafting lyrics to evoke a specific emotion. The process is always different.

It’s really important to be kind to yourself, especially when you’re working. Some days can feel complicated, things go wrong, and you don’t even know why. It’s all out of your control. But it’s not because you’re a failure. NO! It could simply be the weather, solar activity, or just an off day. On days like these, don’t pressure yourself too much.
For example, when I’m writing a song and struggle with the second verse, I’ll try for a bit, then let it go and return to it when I feel inspired. Pressure never leads to good results in the long term.
