Sometimes I draw and create animations just for fun. I love watching the elements of a drawing come together, forming into a complete picture, going from 0% to 100%, seeing the final results. Ah. It’s the best in the creative world. This is also the first time when I’m not pushing the project. I don’t create an animated music video, so there’s no reason to rush, I just want to enjoy this process.
I love repeating music theory lessons, and I thought it might be interesting for others as well. So here you go! I believe music theory is very beneficial for everyone, it develops your musical taste to a high level. If you’re learning to play an instrument, it also helps create new neural connections. Only advantages.
Behind the scenes of creating ‘Virtuality’ animated music video
Why did I want to create an animation?:
- When I finished the song, I was thinking about the plot of the MV. The first scene I visualized was in a subway train. I imagined many scenes with the train like me crossing the station platform and entering trains as if they were placed right next to each other. I thought the music video had to include subway scenes, but in reality, filming there was impossible. Thatās why I started considering other ways to show the subway. And then I remembered⦠animation!!! !!
First struggles:
- It was hard to find the right application. I knew theyād probably need a graphics tablet, so I already had one. The first app I found was OpenToonz (Studio Ghibli used this software for many years to create their works). Of course, the program seemed complicated. I had to watch tutorials just to figure out where the erasers and brushes were. Iām sure OpenToonz is an awesome DAW, but since I didnāt know how to use it properly, I kept experiencing many lags while animating. There was also a rendering issue. I wanted to export in MP4 format, but it either wasnāt an option or I just couldnāt find it. After struggling through a few scenes, I realized I needed something simpler for my skill level. Then, I discovered Sketchbook with animation tools. And thatās how I started creating this music video.
Ranking my animation progress #animation
I strongly believe these are the funniest photos in my gallery. Like literally the funniest Iāve ever taken. I canāt even pick just one…… Theyāre so random AHAHAHAHAH I WANT ICE CREAM. NOOOOOWWW!!!
If I had free will, which I actually do, Iād post Star Wars memes all the time. But I think theyāre copyrighted, so⦠no star wars (ā oā Ā“ā dā _ā dā )ā 㣠Iāll pin them near my bed so every time I fall asleep, Iām staring at Star Wars memes yas
Can’t wait to start uploading more music content AAAAA
Also editing some stuff for ko-fi. I have some crazy ideas, so when I’m done with everything, I’ll let you know as always…
What would you like to see on this channel? Maybe you have some ideas as well? I’d love to listen to it, maybe you have something crazy as well like cooking and singing at the same time HAHAAHAH
It’s really important to always be yourself only. Especially right now, when there are so many tendencies to switch to an alter ego, one that isnāt even yours, just a copy of somebody. It’s important to remember yourself. Just do what you gotta do. You don’t have to prove it, just own your creativity and thoughts. So, this is just a little reminder.
Oops! Just found more photos from the ‘Fading Forgotten Town’ music video. :) that’s so cool that you guys liked the song and the mv, really really glad, thank you so much for your support! What did you like the most about the song? Maybe the chorus, the vocals, or something else? Or maybe this vibe wasn’t so vibing for you? Just wanna know what you enjoyed. :)
And if you liked the song, it’d be super great if you could share this with someone you know! Maybe they will be also vibing with the song…. Who knows. It will be very helpful for my art.
Cheers lasagna!
Recording a song #singersongwriter #music
I found some photos of the animation process for ‘lasagna meal’ :) I was drawing non-stop, everywhere. It was so much fun and truly fascinating to see all the drawings come together in action. I mostly used Sketchbook on a tablet and Krita on my PC. I wish I had taken more photos and videos of the process, but I was completely focused on drawing. At least I have these!
Before working on the 'lasagna meal’ music video, I spent two months improving my drawing skills. Iām not sure how many more animated videos Iāll create in the future, but the practice has definitely helped me, especially with drawing cover art for songs.
Going back to new songs!! :)
I have so many interesting projects that I want to finish, at least 10. Some of them are recent, while others date back to 2020. Itās always exciting to see which one will come to light.
I love rereading plugin manuals, thereās always something interesting that you might have forgotten or skipped. Sometimes it totally revolutionizes the way you work in a DAW.

Thank you so much for your support that inspires me to write more cool music for you! :) Here’s some info about the song:
'Fading Forgotten Town’ captures the feeling of returning to a once-familiar place that has now changed. It evokes mixed emotions - part of you wants to leave, yet something inexplicably pulls you back. There is something beautiful in this lonely feeling.
